Grasp of Orcus
Accused of murder, he is sullen and resigned to his fate. Still plagued by hazy memories, he prefers to keep to himself.
Sarith was imprisoned by his fellow Drow in Velkynvelve, alongside the Evening Group. He escaped with them.
A male drow, Sarith is sullen and keeps to himself, rebuffing attempts to talk to him. He is disgraced by his imprisonment but is resigned to his fate, since there doesn’t appear to be anything he can do about it. Sarith is accused of murdering one of his fellow drow warriors in a fit of madness, but he has no memory of it. He varies between believing the whole thing is a setup to discredit and destroy him, and fearing that it is all true. He was being held until he could be sent back to Menzoberranzan as a sacrifice to Lolth and an example to others.
Unbeknownst even to the other drow, Sarith had been infected with tainted spores from the myconids corrupted by Zuggtmoy, the Demon Queen of Fungi at Neverlight Grove. The initial infestation of the spores caused Sarith’s bout of madness, and his health and sanity continue to deteriorate as the spores grow within his brain. The Evening Group began to piece this information together after Alcyce accidentally read Sarith’s mind and became aware of the spores. When the group later met Jaquiche, his story about visiting Neverlight Grove filled in the blanks.
After escaping Velkynvelve with the Evening Group, Sarith traveled with them for some time before eventually parting ways with them. When the bulk of the party chose to visit Blingdenstone, Sarith and Turvy went to Neverlight Grove instead. Though Turvy shortly returned to the party, Sarith has not been seen since.
